Historical newspapers

The library in „Wissenschaftszentrum Ost- und Südosteuropa“ provides for the users a rich collection (more than 250 Titles) of historical newspapers. The Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies has many interwar period newspapers of the German minority in South Eastern Europe. Some titles are only available here. There are also titles from the years 1950 to 2000. The collection includes the relevant daily newspapers of the socialist states of Albania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Romania, Czechoslovakia and Hungary.
These documents are source texts for the recent history of South Eastern Europe. Therefore the library of “Wissenschaftszentrum Ost- und Südosteuropa” represents an important research institution for scholars all over the world.
