Use of the library

The library in the Research Centre for Eastern and Southeastern Europe is a publicly accessible, specialised academic The stacks holdings of the IOS (shelfmark beginnings W 01 and W 02) can be borrowed for two weeks with the option of a one-off two-week extension. This requires a library card, which can be issued on site on presentation of a valid photo ID. In the reading room the user finds common and geographical reference books, dictionaries and handbooks. In the exhibition of newspapers and journals the current issues of 660 titles are accessible. For enquiries and reading there are two PCs with connection to the internet and eight reading places with wall-sockets. A book scanner is available for copying.

The collections of the Institute for East European Law are located in the rooms of the institute on the 2nd floor. There is a reading room available. The special literature referring to the different countries, periodical literature and the collections of jurisdiction are stored as reference library in the rooms of the country referents. The literature can be used in the reading room of the institute. For use of the reference library the country referent has to be consulted. The registration of visitors of the Institute for East European Law library and online search in the collections is to be done in the common reading room at the ground floor.

Possibility of parking (parking licence card available in the reading room).
